Charles Beaudet

Charles Beaudet has designed and created everything from engagement rings to chalices. He even created the Ring Of Rings for a client, taken from Tolkin's book The Hobbit. It displayed elfish lettering that only showed up after heating by a candle flame. Pieces he helped his father with as an apprentice are now on display in the Milwaukee County Art Museum on the Lakefront in Wisconsin.
Charles loves that the designing and manufacturing of jewelry is an art that goes back thousands of years. He also loves the advantages of being on the forefront of technology. Our shop sports a new Laser Welding machine that can weld gold or platinum down to 2/10ths of a millimeter allowing repairs on antique jewelry unheard of just a couple of years ago. We're also proud of our Megascope that measures every facet and angle of a diamond. Fine cut adds beauty and demands appreciation in a diamond just as live music opens the soul to it's beauty and excitement.

I was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived there through college, graduating with a degree in special education from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. When I was growing up I knew and loved the jewelry that my dad gave my mom, and I admired the jewelry that had been passed through our family.
But it wasn't until I was swept into the jewelry business after my marriage to Charles, that I really grew to appreciate the trade. I've found that I thoroughly enjoy learning about diamonds, metals and gemstones from Charles. It was amazing to learn about all the colors of gems and the choices that the earth provides. It was news to me that a garnet came in a rich pink that was named after a rhododendron and that sapphires came in all (yes, all!) colors except red. And pearls. Pearls from the sea, pearls from lakes, pearls from oysters, pearls from mussels and clams, there was so much to learn! The jewelry business turned out to be the perfect fit for me. I love it!
Opening up our store is a joy everyday. Through our doors come so many wonderful people with hopes and dreams that we can help them fulfill. Chuck and I have been married for 40 years now. We have two wonderful sons. We have three wonderful grandchildren. Our life has been and continues to be an adventure. We learn something new every day, from each other and our customers. I look forward to seeing what the next day will bring.

I'm a native Oregonian, born and raised in the Willamette Valley. I love this region of the country, and I probably won't ever stray far from Eugene. I enjoy the community, the University (Go Ducks!), the Butte, and the changes we get to enjoy with every season. I was very lucky to join Beaudet Jewelry in the summer of 2009, and it has been a great opportunity in my life. This past summer I was married, and my husband and I spend our free time hiking with our two spoiled dogs, Roscoe who is a Daschund, and Harriett who is a Schnauzer mix. We also love traveling, cooking, and playing poker.

Originally from Atlanta, GA, I moved to Eugene in 2001 and immediately fell in love with it! I have loved gems and minerals since the age of 6, when my 1st geode was cut open to reveal crystals. I majored in geology in college, and I taught 8th grade earth science prior to moving to Oregon. My passions are music, traveling, birding, wildlife viewing, reading, cooking, camping, and art. My English Mastiff, Zoe, and I love to explore the Pacific Northwest. The Reason I Love Jewelry: It's Beautiful, Enduring, and Meaningful - Each piece represents a special time or person in my life.
